Čínský závod není jen o soutěžení, ale i o volbách členů UCI komise jezdců, kde má každý sport zastoupení v podobě ženského a mužské závodníka (bývalého i současného). Volba je vždy na 4 roky a jezdec zodpovídá za zběr dat, návrhování pravidel, komunikaci s ostatnímy jezdcy.

Krátké povzdechnutí – kéž by se nám tento model vrátil i do České republiky a v pracovní skupině by seděli opět pouze jezdci.

BMX Freestyle and trials candidates for the UCI Athletes’ Commission announced

The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) is delighted to announce the names of the BMX Freestyle and trials athletes who are candidates for a position on the UCI Athletes‘ Commission. One male and one female athlete from each of these two disciplines will be elected to the Commission. Candidates are:

BMX Freestyle

Men:
• Michael BERAN (CZE)
• Daniel DHERS (USA)
• Daniel JOSA (HUN)
• Ryan NYQUIST (USA)

Women:
• Nina BUITRAGO (USA)
• Cory COFFEY (USA)

Trials

Men:
• Kenny BELAEY (BEL)
• Eloi PALAU (ESP)
• Erik ULLTANG (NOR)

Women:
• Tatiana JANICKOVA (SVK)

All Elite BMX Freestyle and trials athletes participating in the 2017 UCI Urban Cycling World Championships in Chengdu will be eligible to vote for the representatives of their discipline. The election will take place as follows:

• For trials, Friday November 10th (8am – 2pm) next to the riders’ area
• For BMX Freestyle, Saturday November 11th (8am – 1pm) next to the judges’ area by the big screen
The election results will be announced on the UCI website.

The members of the Commission will be elected for a term of four years, with the mandate effective from the UCI Congress of 2017 until 2021.
